Here’s my pronunciation practice from my fourth French class.     The following are the texts I’m using to practice.     I am still very dependent upon reading the text to help me speak, but I can feel my confidence slowly building as I become more familiar with the vocabulary. I struggle with the French numbers and need to practice them more. As we begin to tackle higher numbers, I realize that I need to spend some time on the basics.

French Class 003

This is my French pronunciation practice from my third French class. I’m beginning to realize that I rely heavily on reading and seeing what I’m supposed to say. I need to practice my listening and responding without looking at my textbook, especially when replying with a negative.       If you speak French, I would love to hear some feedback on my pronunciation. I’m actively looking for ways to improve my French language skills outside of my class and would appreciate any tips on apps, podcasts, websites, etc. that could benefit me. Merci beaucoup!

French Class 002

I took my second French class last week. This is my reflection on the class and a few of the key points we covered. My pronunciation practice is at the bottom. Please let me know how I’m doing!   This was straight forward. I just need to remember the linking with j’habite and vous habitez.   Once we started looking at the full conjugation, it got a little trickier. Basically, I just need to remember that vous and the plurals (nous, ils, and elles) all link with a z sound. Also, the endings all sound the same except for the nous…

French Class 001

I took my first French class! I want to use this blog to reflect on the experience of being a language teacher in a foreign language class. I’m hoping it will deepen my learning and lead to more empathy for my ESL students. At the end of each post, I will upload an audio file where I practice my French pronunciation.
